The one part of White’s appointment that has been delayed was the discussion of a new contract.Īccording to Larkin, due to the ongoing COVID-19 issues, officials cannot enter into contract and salary negotiations. “I don’t want to bring some poor guy in from California to interview for a job that we’ve all basically made up our minds about – it’s mean,” Larkin said. He also commented on how other board members were complementing White on the job he was doing. But due to the township having fallen months behind due to the COVID-19 issues and with an expectation that there will be a lot of catching up to do, they will not be in a position to meet with other candidates. Larkin said he was one of the people that supported an open process with the involvement of the public in the hiring. Abel asked for a motion to table White’s approval until their meetings were taking place in the township building. Like most communities, Radnor is currently holding its meetings remotely. This process would have included interviews with other candidates and having the public involved in the process, he said.
